Folded Pavilion

The Folded Pavilion is a permanent civic structure at the entrance of Peja’s central park. The roof, the walls and the seating are folded from a single triangulated surface in weathering steel. At night the structure glows from within through perforated joints.

The brief asked for a building that would mediate its site while also asserting a clear geometric identity. Our response was a single irreducible figure repeated at three scales: an outer envelope, an inner volume and a hand-held detail. Every element of Folded Pavilion traces its proportion back to that single triangle.
